Sunnybank House is a 19th Century Estate House of immense character whose history is part of the history of Clifden Town itself. It is uniquely situated in its own mature gardens yet only 100 meters from Clifden town centre. The private outdoor heated swimming pool is located at the back of the house, there is a large terrace around the pool with garden furniture and BBQ. The wooden decked Sauna is located in the pool area. The Tennis court is 15 metres from the house near the Car park. Host to Chelsea Clinton during her tour of Ireland, it is ideal for family and friends holidays, small weddings , activity groups, celebration weekends, rest and relaxation. Especially designed to cater for large parties it mixes elegant country house ambiance with practicality by providing the best facilities in an ideal setting. The ground floor provides plenty of living space including a library, television room, Dining room and large living room.

  • Rates:

    The rates quoted are fully inclusive except for utilities i.e. electricity and oil. These are metered and charged at national domestic rates, as consumed, and are payable on departure. Approx. utilities for a week in Sunnybank House at full occupancy : €150.00 - €250.00


    Booking:

    A 30 % deposit is required to secure your booking and the balance of payment is due by 120 days prior to arrival. If you are booking within 120 days prior to arrival, payment of the full rate is required.

    Payment:

    Payment can be made by credit card or by bank transfer. Credit card payments can be made through the secure booking form on our website or over the phone.
  • Cancellations:

    Cancellations made up to 6 months prior to arrival, all payments will be refunded. Cancellations made up to 120 days prior to arrival, deposit non refundable. Cancellations made within 120 days prior to arrival, full payment is non refundable.
    In the event that we can re sell cancelled dates, we will refund all payments less the costs of re selling or discounting the rate.

    Security Deposit:

    A security deposit will be required on arrival of €1000 and can be paid in cash or by credit card. This is standard procedure in case of breakages, damage or soiling, and we would ask that you inform us of same, should it occur. The deposit will be returned to you on departure.
  • All basics are provided including; All linen and towels, loo roll, soap, Gilchrist and Soames shampoo, soap and shower gel. Kitchen basics washing up liquid, cloths, tea towels, condiments, oil etc. Peat briquettes and firelighters. We also provide a welcome pack - the contents of which depend on what is available on the day- An example would be ; A selection of Irish cheese, Pate, locally smoked salmon, grapes, lemons, fresh brown bread, milk, butter, Coffee and wine

    ***Two week stays include full cleaning on the middle saturday***

    ** Short breaks/ weekends available from September to May from €2500.00 for a 2 or 3 or 4 night stay*********

Notes: Large gardens , parking area and Tennis court within the grounds. The swimming Pool area has sunloungers, deck chairs, outdoor tables and a large Weber gas barbeque situated at the side of the pool. There is a sheltered area at the side of the pool for drying, sheltering, storage. The wood decked sauna is located in the pool area. The Pool area can be closed off by locking the wooden gates at the access points. Peat briquettes and fire lighters are supplied for the open fires. The large kitchen in sunnybank is exceptional - designed to cater for large numbers while retaining the traditional charm of the rest of the house. With cashmere granite counter tops, Siemens and Smeg appliances - there are three ovens and an extra large gas hob, with two large fridges and freezer space, two dishwashers, large commercial washing machine, the pantry kitchen off the main kitchen adds invaluable extra kitchen space and facilities to avoid kitchen pileups !
