Local activities: FISHING You may buy a fishing licence in the local stationers that will give you 15 days permission to fish anywhere on the River Dordogne. The cost of this is just 30 Euros and there are many beautiful spots to choose from where you may take the family for a picnic while you are busy catching the bar-b-Que for your evening meal! BIRD WATCHING The area boasts many different breeds of birds and several of our enthusiastic guests have returned from trips very excited at having spotted unusual species that are not widely found in UK. HOT AIR BALLOON Trips of varying times are available to see the area from the air. There are several pick up points and prices are inexpensive. Why not take a birds eye look at your holiday venue? A very different way to see the beautiful countryside around.

KAYAKING AND CANOEING On the edge of Le Fleix is the quayside where you may hire kayaks and canoes. You have the choice of a 1, 2 or 6 hour trip on the river and the company who hire out the canoes will take you, with your canoe, life jacket and picnic if you have one, up the river to your starting point. They see you safely off and drive back to their base where you have left your car. You make your way down the river, dropping the canoe off and picking up your car at the end of your trip. This is a really fun day for all the family. GLIDING 5 minutes drive will take you to Fougerolles where there is a private airfield from which you may book a gliding trip or even lessons for the more adventurous. Once again, this is inexpensive and prices depend on your choice of trip or lesson.

LAC DE GURSON The Gurson lake is found on an 18 ha domain and features two large lakes (one for fishing) aquatique toboggans, pedalos, mini-golf, horse rides, tennis, kids games and a picnic area. Located at Carsac de Gurson. Ideal day our for all of the family

Golf: 15 minutes drive from Le Fleix is the superb golf course of Les Vigiers. This is an 18 hole course and is testing enough to satisfy regular golfers but not too tough for the lesser player. Green fees are very reasonable and you may hire clubs and buggy. Les Vigiers also has a swimming pool, a bistro-style restaurant and the more expensive restaurant for a special night out in the chateau. There is also a health spa and fitness salon so that the ladies can enjoy pampering themselves whilst their menfolk fight it out on the course.
