  • Payment can be made via CHEQUE or BANK TRANSFER in STERLING or EUROS.   Payment can also be made via CREDIT CARD.  Prices include bed linen and towels plus maid cleaning on departure. The local tourist tax levied by the Mayor of Les Houches is also included. To reserve the property a non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total rent is payable together with a signed booking form. The remaining balance must be paid at least 8 weeks before the arrival date. Also to be paid at the same time as the balance payment (but on a separate cheque or credit card guarantee) is a refundable security bond for excess cleaning/ damages/ loss deposit of £300/ €440. In 2010 the changeover day is Sunday - to take advantage of lower 'non Saturday' air fares!

  • The apartment has a spacious shower room decorated in white tiles with a pebble frieze and black slate tile floor. The complimentary white sink has a mixer tap set in a cupboard unit, large mirror and recessed ceiling lighting. For guest's use there is a washing machine with many features including time delay (go skiing and your clothes are washed while you're on the slopes!). It also has an integrated dryer, again which can be used on time delay. A walk-in shower with glass surround. Heated towel rail. There is a seperate toilet with wash hand basin.

Floor to ceiling fitted wardrobe with 100cm of hanging space, separate space with drawers and shelving. Two bedside tables (each with 3 drawers), bedside table lamps. Patio doors opening out onto the balcony with views up the Chamonix Valley to the Aiguille du Midi. In the lounge there is a 3 seater leather sofa with chaise which makes up into a large comfortable double sofa bed. Also a leather easy chair which can pull out into a single bed suitable for a child/ young adolescent.

Notes: Apartment Chalet Whymper is a fully equipped self catering apartment available for booking all year round with secure individual garage parking and ski locker. There is a lift to all floors. There are two balconies, one accessible from the lounge and the other from the bedroom. The lounge balcony has two balcony tables and four chairs plus a three-seater bench from which you can view the ski run down to the Bellevue Cable Car and along the valley to the Rocher de Fizz mountain range. This balcony gets the afternoon sun. From the bedroom balcony there are views up the Chamonix Valley to the Aiguille du Midi. This balcony gets the morning sun.


Les Houches Apartment Details

Ski: The ski and snowboard area of Les Houches extends from an altitude of 950 metres to 1900 metres. The terrain is extremely varied, providing enjoyment for all abilities with 12 red runs, 5 blue runs and 4 green runs. Plus the black run La Verte on which the Kandahar World Cup downhill race is run. Many of the runs are long descents through pine and larch forests. The lift system comprises of the Bellevue cable car (150 metres from Chalet Whymper), the Prarion gondola lift (500 metres from Chalet Whymper), 4 chair lifts (including the chair lift Coupe du Monde 150 metres from Chalet Whymper), 12 drag lifts and the Tramway du Mont-Blanc train. From the resort summit there is a breathtaking 360° panorama of the Mont-Blanc range. When necessary, artificial snow coverage is provided by 100 snow canons covering 900m of vertical drop. With the ski bus from Les Houches you can also access the other 157km of on piste (and limitless off piste) in the three other ski areas of the Chamonix Valley.
