Details for The Byre
The Byre is the first of the cottages that was bought and is the largest of the three. The ruin was bought in 1993 and took a little over a year to restore.
The restoration was done after much research into what the original building looked like, both inside and out. The cottage was awarded a plaque from the Turkish Ministry Of Tourism & Culture for “Sympathetic Restoration Of Turkish Heritage” of which the owners Sandy & Jon Carter are justifiably proud.
The cottage is situated at the highest point at the western end of the Kaya valley, with stunning views in all directions. The interior of the cottage consists of a hallway cut into the rock leading onto the kitchen on one side and the master double bedroom, with en suite bathroom on the other.
Leading off the fully fitted kitchen is a very large sitting room with a traditional log burning stove, for use in the winter months. The sitting room has a balcony area which has two single beds.

- The rental rates are based on two persons sharing.
However, the Byre has two additional single beds on a balcony above the salon. These are suitable for teenagers. In the high season, we charge Gbp. 62.00 per bed per week (or Gbp. 9.00 per night for stays of less than one week) per bed used. In the low season, we charge Gbp. 49.00 per bed for a full week or Gbp. 7.00 per individual nights used. - We provide all bed linen, changed once a week. We provide hand and shower towels, for use at the cottages. We ask our customers to bring their own beach towels please.
Smoking is allowed inside all Sakli Vadi Cottages and in the gardens.

- The main, double bedroom at The Byre has an en-suite shower room. It has a queen size double bed. In the sitting room of The Byre is a traditional Turkish balcony. On the balcony are two single beds. These are suitable for teenage children. We charge Gbp. 63.00 per bed per week (or Gbp. 9.00 per night) in the high season and Gbp. 49.00 a week (or Gbp. 7.00 per night) at any other time of the year. All bed linen is provided and changed once a week.

Notes:
Above the terrace, accessed via the beautiful rock garden, is the private plunge pool and Ottoman kosk (pronounced 'kushed' - a Turkish wooden seating area), for the exclusive use of clients renting The Byre. There are sunbeds and cushions on the kosk, to enable customers to relax in comfort. The kosk is the highest point in the village and boasts uninterupted panoramic views of the Kaya Valley in all directions - stunning !
The kitchen is equipped with a small fridge, a four burner gas/electric hob, a microwave oven, crockery, glassware and cutlery for up to four guests.
At one of the other cottages, there is a washing machine available for the use of our guests. Each of the cottages has its own ironing board and steam iron.
Please note that the stereo system is available on request and is for iPods and MP3 players, not CD's.
