A super holiday for the Whole Family

Agriturismo Tenuta Regina Farmhouse is sited in the middle of a green area, made up of gardens, fields, woods and meadows. Every appartment is surrounded by a garden, therefore suitable to families with small children: parents don't have to worry, because the area is safe and far from cars and dangers. Your children can play free by the pool or in the gardens as well as follow you in your bike-ridings without minding the restrictions of traffic. This is a definitely peaceful place but it is also close to the beaches of Lignano (20 km) and Bibione (25 km), where your children will find wide spaces to play by the sea; they could visit the zoo in Lignano (one of the biggest in Italy!) or spend a day at the Acquasplash (a big water park) or at the luna park...just let them decide.

Friuli Venezia Giulia: A Lively Region

In region Friuli Venezia Giulia many events take place all year long: Tenuta Regina could be a good starting point for those willing to take part in. During 'Aria di Festa' the city of San Daniele del Friuli transforms to celebrate its famous ham (worldwide renowned): the streets and the squares are covered by stands of all kinds (artisans at work, food&wine tasting points, antiques...) and the ham-factories open their gates to disclose the secrets of this ancient fashionating art. At the end of July the city of Cividale del Friuli, one of the most beautiful in the region, hosts the 16th edition of 'Mittelfest', an important festival celebrating the traditions of Middle Europe: dancers, musicians, poets and actor companies coming from this geographic and cultural area perform on the theaters and on the squares of Cividale. In Trieste, the main city of FVG, everyone waits for the 'Barcolana', the sailing race of the huge numbers: 2.000 ships, 25.000 men on the sea and 300.000 visitors

Tasting the Territory

FVG is definitely a region where eating and drinking are part of a culture; you cannot understand it deeply without tasting its delicious products. Many restaurants, agriturismi and 'osterie' (inns) are close to Tenuta Regina, but we advise you to take the car and have a tour across the whole region. Primarily, we suggest you to spend a day on the hills of Collio (40 km), enjoying its fantastic views (hills entirely covered by vineyards!) and sampling its wines in one of the many marvellous cellars...they are all opened during 'Cantine Aperte', an event created to promote genuine food and wine of all the italian regions (End of May). In September, then, Udine (35 km) becomes the capital of taste: 'Friuli DOC' promotes all the DOC (italian best food&wine) products of FVG. You could drink and eat local specialities while visiting the city.

From Green to Blue...in the Blink of an Eye!

The Agriturismo stands in the heart of a wide green area, made up of fields, small woods, narrow canals and meadows. This green landscape gradually leads to the sea, which is anticipated by the unique environment created by the Marano Lagoon. This is the natural boarder of our estate, thus being a mixture of earthly and water-elements. We stand by a WWF protected area, where nature-lovers can be certainly satisfied: rare birds and acquatic plants, small isles as well as the typical seamen houses (made of reeds) can be observed experiencing a ship trip on the River Stella. Would you prefer to explore the surroundings by your own, you could rent one of our mountain bikes choosing an exciting day in the country.

Shopping

Lignano Sabbiadoro is a must for those fond of shopping and italian style. On the main street of the city one can find the ultimate in fashion. To save a little money, not renouncing the griffes, you could drive to Palmanova: on May 8th the Palmanova Outlet Village has become real; it is a proper village, where instead of common houses you'll find rows of shops selling clothes of all the most famous stilists at a lower cost. It easy to reach it from Tenuta Regina: it stand just outside the highway exit of Palmanova.

Flying to FVG

Many flights connect the main airports of Europe to the FVG Airport of Ronchi dei Legionari (40 min from Tenuta Regina). Flights depart everyday from London (Stanstead - Ryanair), from Paris (Airfrance) and from Munich (Lufthansa). Flights from Birmingham and from Copenhagen have been recently introduced: the former depart on Saturday (Sterling) and the latter depart every Wednesday and Sunday (Ryanair).
