West Sussex Villa Details
West Sussex, is a county of contrasts. With the beautiful rolling hills of the South Downs, pretty chocolate box villages and stunning beaches, there is something for everyone! You can always be sure of plenty to do or see. Why not visit Arundel with its castle that's still home to the Duke of Norfolk. If shopping is your bag, excuse the pun, then give the Roman city of Chichester a visit. It has an historic town centre full of individual shops and the more familiar high street chains. When you are shopped out, call in to the Cathedral for some quiet contemplation or maybe have a guided tour with one of the knowledgeable guides. About half an hour’s drive away, is Portsmouth with its famous Dockyard. Visit the wreck of the Mary Rose or step aboard Nelson's flagship Victory. Again if you fancy even more shopping call at Gunwharf Quays where shops and restaurants look out over the Solent. Watch the boats as you sip your G&T and relax from all your shopping!!
Bognor Regis is on the south coast, with excellent road and rail links - or an hours drive from Gatwick Airport. Nearest port is Portsmouth. Nearby Goodwood is just the other side of Chichester which is where the famous Festival of Speed is held. There is also horse racing at Goodwood, especially the Glorious Goodwood event. The estate also has a motor racing circuit where you can hire an assortment of classic or modern cars to race round the track, an airfield where you can fly helicopters or a light aircraft and a golf course. Spoilt for choice really! Arundel Castle and Cathedral is 19km to the east. Brighton is 50km east along the A27. Portsmouth is 30km west where you can catch a hovercraft or Ferry to the Isle of Wight. or even France! Journey times to your holiday (not taking traffic in to account!) Manchester 4h 45 mins Birmingham 3h 15mins London 2h 20 mins Glasgow 7h 55mins You can also get a direct train to London and walk to Gabriels Hall from the station!
