Off season: This part of Provence is particularly agreeable off season. Clement temperatures with blue skies , sunshine, bathe the country side with an indefinable light so dear to so many famous artists. Mas des Roses is wonderful for this time of year, comfortably furnished and centrally heated; after a lazy day exploring the country side you can relax in front of a log fire and enjoy a glass of Cotes du Rhone and even enjoy sitting on the sheltered terrace on a sunny winters day. At the end of January is the Truffle festival in Uzès, the whole town is devoted to the black diamond, kilos for sale on the market place , demonstrations of truffle hunting and all the restaurants proposing a special truffle menu - an unique experience !

Sight seeing: There are a multitude of things to do and see in the region of Uzes. Very well situated for all the cultural events during the summer, dance and music festivals in Uzes itself, plus those of Nimes and of course the wonderful open air festivals in Orange and Vaison La Romaine, easily accessible. For sports lovers, canoeing on the Gardon and arriving under the majestic Pont du Gard is a memorable experience. The Mas is very close to the National Stud for horse lovers The Golf Course is also very close by. Avignon, the beautiful Papal city and Nimes with its Roman remains are both at less than an hours drive . At an hours drive is the Camargue National Park with wild bulls,horses and flamingoes and the pretty sea side villages of Stes Maries la Mer and Aigues- Mortes close to the long sandy beaches near Montpellier
