This is a very natural setting. When you launch your kayak from the back yard, you will need to be prepared to carry your craft down the banking stairs to the shore. You will launch from the shoreline, which is covered with marsh grasses. This salt creek is tidal, which means you will also need to time your launch and landing with high tide. In addition to the salt estuary behind the house, there are also many public boat landings in the area (both fresh and salt water) where you can launch your craft easily and explore the many different water environments Down East Maine has to offer.
