Or choose from romantic, sunset dinner cruises, scenic boat tours, coastal ecology or dolphin sighting sails, and adventure speed boat rides to Cape Lookout, Shackleford Banks, the Back Sound and Carrot Island. Enjoy fine dining at excellent Beaufort restaurants (many on the waterfront). Wander by the lovely homes or through the fascinating 'Old Burying Ground' in the Historic District. Browse the quaint shops for unique gifts, art, pottery or antiques on downtown Front Street and historic Turner Street. Visit the free and fascinating Beaufort Maritime Museum or take double-decker bus and historic site tours.
From the downtown boardwalk: view the ever changing flotilla of cruise ships, luxury yachts, sailing ships, fishing boats and pleasure craft. Play tennis or launch your own boat at the nearby free town-owned facilities. All these fun activities are within easy walking or biking distance!
Drive a short distance over the waterway bridges : to Morehead City for deep sea fishing, horse back riding, waterfront dining and shopping. Catch ferries to Cape Lookout, Harker's Island, Ocracoke and then on to Cape Hatteras to enjoy day trips on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Guest Book: We recently had our third stay at the Beaufort Bungalow and as usual everyone thoroughly enjoyed it (especially our dogs). The house is well equipped and clean and the beds are very comfortable. There is always so much to do with the beach nearby, the shopping, and the restaurants. This year we tried two new ones, Aqua and the Crab Claw and both were really great and we highly recommend them.
