Our home is nestled in the jungle with visits from three types of monkeys, sloths, lizards, iguanas, toucans & numerous varieties of birds, butterflies and other exotic wildlife. The howler monkeys sleep in the trees above our home. The white-face monkeys & squirrel monkeys visit our terraces and steal bananas from the kitchen! To enjoy our ecological paradise, we have built our home with bi-functional renewable energy from wind and sun. Solar panels generate electricity in the daytime and a wind-generator generates electricity from the ocean breezes. We are also connected to the local electric company so when we produce more electricity than we use, we send it back to the grid and when there is little sun and no wind we use electricity stored in our batteries or from the grid (hydro-generators).
