Kapoho House Summary

Champagne Cove offers two separate accommodations: the 3-bedroom ground-floor portion called the Ohana, which opens directly to the pool and barbecue area, and the 3-bedroom main house upstairs, which has views overlooking the pool area to the ocean. Both units are nicely furnished and provide the comfort of a fun, comfortable vacation house. The huge private pool, adjacent barbecue area, and garden surroundings are for the exclusive use of guests at Champagne Cove. The nearby Champagne Pond, a crystal-clear lagoon sheltered from the surf that provides incredible snorkeling and swimming, is only a 3-minute walk away. There is also a popular geothermal heated pond called Ahalanui (the “Hot Pond”) about 2 miles away. Whales can be seen off-shore in season and sea turtles visit year ’round. You will see sunrises as you never imagined, and even though the sun sets on the other side of the island, the sky over Kapoho comes alive with spectacular colors!

Champagne Cove is located in Kapoho, one of the most popular vacation communities on the Hilo side of the Big Island. Kapoho is the sunniest part of East Hawaii, and it's known for the many lava rock tide pools that offer great swimming and snorkeling. It is 5 miles to Pahoa Town with eclectic shops and restaurants. Hilo and Hawaii Volcanoes National Park are 45-60 minutes away.

    Ohana: from $135 per night.

  • Champagne Cove has a 3-night minimum stay. Rates do not include 11.4166% Hawaii taxes, cleaning fee, and security deposit. Please call or email for special rates on stays of more than 25 nights. Sorry, Champagne Cove cannot accommodate more than 6 persons each in the Ohana and main house.

Kapoho House Details

Champagne Cove is completely furnished to supply all of your home-away-from-home needs. There is a fully-equipped kitchen in both units, plus gas and charcoal barbecues right outside. Champagne Cove offers: large oceanfront in-ground swimming pool, barbecue with charcoal and gas grills, outdoor dining areas, washer/dryer, all in a private gated community. The trade winds off the ocean cool the house; the bay is sheltered from the surf and provides great snorkeling. The beach is black lava and some black sand. Whales and turtles may be seen in season. Oceanfront Champagne Cove is about 3 minutes walk to water's edge.

Activities:: Hiking, Golf, Fishing, Restaurants, Museums, Sightseeing, Swimming, Snorkeling & Diving, Surfing. The private pool comes complete with a private outdoor restroom and shower by the pool. A wonderful snorkeling area is within walking distance and a thermally heated warm pond is less than a 5-minute drive. Golfing is nearby at Volcano Country Club and golf courses in Hilo and around the Island. Tourist attractions can be found by day trips around the Island.
