Perfect for a small fishing expedition or just taking a 'drive' along the gorgeous Intracoastal waterway. Windsurf in the waterway, or the ocean if you are truly gifted. Take a tour to the military fort, Fort Matanzas (ah-ha, thus the name of the property for those wondering . . .), that the Spanish successfully held against the French for over one hundred years. In fact, you're so close to this historic National Monument, you could even row there if you were so inclined. Definitely take in a carriage ride through the cobblestone streets of the old city.

Unfortunately, you just can't have boat and beachfront access in the same home (unless, of course, you own your own private island--but then you wouldn't be reading this in the first place), but it's only a 5-7 minute walk to the sand. And what a beach it is! Since you're right at the Northern tip of the Matanzas Inlet, you're far enough away from the nearest car access to turn this beach into a particularly solitary stretch of sand. Play football or Frisbee on the beach, sneak off into the dunes with a wide beach towel and a nice (plastic) bottle of your favorite beverage, all without the hassle of tons of other vacationers.

A billboard coming into St Augustine advertises miles and miles of the most beautiful beaches in the world ... and the rest is history. We are the nation's oldest city, settled in 1565 by Spanish soldiers under Don Pedro Menendez de Aviles. No one should miss touring the historic district, walking down St George Street, seeing how King Phillip's soldiers lived in the Castillo de San Marcos or perhaps taking a carriage ride down cobblestone streets. The Flagler era has Henry Morrison Flagler's original three luxury hotels steeped in history as well as his Memorial Presbyterian Church, the finest example of Venetian Renaissance architecture in America. The kids will love the Alligator Farm, the oldest attraction in the state of Florida and take then on the free boat ride out to Fort Matanzas, the back door fort that ended pirate raids in 1742.

Golf: You are also only 10 minutes from Marineland and about 90 minutes from Mickey Mouse and/or the Space Center. If you get really bored (hard to imagine) call us for a boat ride in the magnificent harbor adorned with sail boats and the Bridge of Lions.
