The kitchen has a lobster cookbook for those adventurous foodies who want to make lobster bisque, lobster rolls, etc. The Schoodic area has several hand-craft artisans with shops in Gouldsboro, Corea, Winter Harbor and Birch Harbor. Shop for hand-hooked rugs, hand-blown glass, art pottery, handmade jewelry, original watercolor art, sculpture and more! Kayak and bicycle rentals are available locally. Nearby Jones Pond offers public swimming, fishing and boating. There are a wide variety of restaurants in the area, whether you just want to grab a quick sandwich or pizza, cool off with an ice cream sundae, stop in at the local establishment for some inexpensive fried clams, hearty breakfast or enjoy 5 star dining.
Hiking, Kayaking, Fishing Activities:: The 2,366 acre Schoodic Peninsula section of Acadia National Park is only a ten minute drive away in nearby Winter Harbor and offers exceptional views of rocky coastline. Be sure to pack a picnic lunch to enjoy at Frazer Point. Picnic tables available. Bring your hiking gear and take one of several hiking trails within the park, each are just over a mile long (Schoodic Head Trail, Anvil Trail, Alder Trail or East Trail). Nearby Jones Pond (467 acre lake) in Gouldsboro has a public boat launch, swimming and picnic area or try your luck at fishing. Pedal boat & canoes are available for rent or bring your own boat for lake cruising/fishing. Local kayak rentals and guided tours available. Launch your kayak from Frazer Point & other areas. Visit Acadia National Park on Mt Desert Island, 45 minutes away.
