Come with friends or your extended family to enjoy a peaceful retreat on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe. In summer, enjoy the privileges of using our homeowners' beach and pier. 'The West Shore is the best shore' and 'The quiet side of Tahoe' describe our area. Minutes away are Emerald Bay with its Vikingsholm Castle and Eagle Falls, a part of DL Bliss State Park; Meeks Bay with its wide sand beaches and shallow warm waters; the Tallac Historic Site with its Valhalla Boathouse Theater, Valhalla Grand Hall and the remnants of a bygone era of grand estates owned by Baldwin, Heller and Pope; and Taylor Creek Visitors Center at Camp Richardson, where you can watch the Kokanee salmon making their spawning run through the window in a tunnel that runs along side the steam, or take a walk on an interpretive trail. Hiking and biking trails offer a variety of terrain for those who like steep climbs or easy family routes. A bike path goes past Tahoma north to Squaw Valley or south to Emerald Bay, so pack a picnic and head off with the family. Or perhaps you'd like to hike a portion of the 165-mile Tahoe Rim Trail. Backpackers, check out the Desolation Wilderness.

Tahoma Cabin Details

Welcome to Two Morrows!: Our cabin is on a very private large level parcel (4 lots) near Lake Tahoe. Decks are on three sides. The back deck is a few feet off the ground and is fenced so that small children and dogs can wander on it safely. The front deck has a picnic table and benches. You will find a BBQ grill and folding chairs in storage areas. The side deck is covered for easy winter entry. A wood storage bin is along this side deck. The driveway is plowed in the winter and accommodates three vehicles.

The Kitchen and Living Room: Our cabin is very comfortable. The kitchen has every appliance you can imagine: coffee grinder ( bring your own beans!) waffle iron, juicer, popcorn popper, crock pot, salad spinner, bottle opener, electric frying pan (for pancakes at the breakfast table), hand and standing electric mixers. There are plenty of big pots and pans, salad bowls and casserole dishes if you are cooking for a gang. Take the hibachi outside to use it. There are also staples such as sugar, salt, pepper, spices, cooking oil, etc. in the cabinets, and of course, dishes. Cleaning supplies and extras are either under the sink or above the refrigerator. The range is electric. The living room has a wood-burning stove, but there is also a forced-air gas furnace. There is a phone answering machine next to the telephone. Record your message, if you like. Below the phone cabinet are several informative binders and brochures about things to do at Tahoe. The washer/dryer and the ski locker are in the entryway.

In our area: Our neighborhood park, Marie Sluchak Park and Playground, has a play structure, picnic tables, and barbecues, as well as a stage with amphitheater seating. On summer Sundays, it offers church services; and on Saturday nights, there are free movies suitable for children. Concerts and day camps are also scheduled during summer months. The park is available to rent for receptions, reunions or parties. Walk to a general market with a deli, a pizzeria, a post office, a coffee bar, rental shops for sporting equipment and movies, and restaurants. Pack a picnic basket and take a stroll to Sugar Pine Point State Park and enjoy an afternoon at the Ehrman Mansion, pier and beach. Nearby, explore the Sunnyside, Chambers Landing, Cascade Lake, the Tahoe Yosemite Trail, Kaspian Recreation Area, Blackwood Canyon, and the Pacific Crest/Tahoe Rim Trail.

Ski: Winter offers a wide selection of activities as well, including downhill and cross-country skiing, snowboarding, snow-shoeing, sledding, and ice-skating. Tahoe is famous for its ski resorts. The closest one to Tahoma is Homewood Mountain Resort, three miles away, where children 10 and under ski free; but there many others such as Alpine Meadows, Northstar at Tahoe, Mount Rose Ski Area and Squaw Valley USA. Several smaller resorts are also nearby. The nearest cross-country tracks are in Sugar Pine Point State Park; you can put your skis on at the cabin and walk to the trailhead.

Guest Book: Roberta....what a perfect place for families. We housed 2 families in your Tahoma home for a weekend in the snow and were very comfortable. The kids were able to roam freely without worry!Your snow plow guy kept the driveway clear for us and we pretty much had everything we needed. We had a great time and hope to see it in the summer sometime! The reservation process was simple and communication with you has been a pleasure. Thank You! Donna Schuring, Orangevale, CA (donna@cpmc.com) We had a great time at your home in Tahoma. The cabin was centrally located near the beach, bike trail, laundry, PDQ market, etc. My husband especially enjoyed the bike trails. He went on some marathon bike rides! We split our beach time between Chambers and Meeks. We come up here every year and have a great time! I am glad we found your rental this year on the internet! The Schmolke Family, Walnut Creek, CA (Lilly@astound.ca.net)

Other Activities: Rock-climbing, snow-shoeing, x-c skiing
