Soufriere House Details
The second bedroom features two beautifully restored four-poster beds, a queen and a double. A chaise lounge, English slipper chairs, and custom made mosquito nets make these bedrooms especially romantic. La Bagatelle is five minutes from Anse Chastanet Beach Resort with its five star PADI dive center. The coral reefs around the coast offer some of the best diving in the Caribbean. Soufriere, the old French capital of St. Lucia, is less than 10 minutes away. It is a proper West Indian town where market ladies lay their mangoes, avocados, limes and lettuces in the street for your inspection. When you hear the fishermen blowing on a conch shell, you know that fresh tuna, dorade and kingfish have just come off the boats. Visit the Diamond Mineral Baths and bathe in hot sulphurous water or relax in several of warm waterfalls in the area. Explore the rainforest; visit a working plantation and the Botanical Gardens.
Or just order a massage at La Bagatelle and spoil yourself in this peaceful house. Staff not optional, must come in at least every other day. Amenities: Superb views from all rooms. Rain forest hikes, climb the Pitons, water skiing, yacht rentals, spa facilities at two Hotels, massages at the house, snorkeling. Area: The Pitons area of Soufriere is now a World Heritage site due to its unspoiled beauty, spectacular scenery, warm waterfalls, sulphur springs and superb coral reefs. This is the Caribbean still unspoiled and real.
