Old Fort House Rates
Payment is usually accepted in the quoted currency unless the currency and the amount is specifically agreed in advance with the owner / advertiser.
- Taxes are composed of 6.75% NC sales tax and 5% McDowell County occupancy tax.
- Additional event fee charged for special events based on size of group and scope of function.
Note: Until confirmed, rates are subject to change without notice. - We do not rent individual rooms at Rivers Ridge Lodge; each reservation rents the home and land with its amenities in its entirety. We accept reservations on a first come, first served basis and collect 30% of the rental upon booking the reservation and require the balance 30 days before arrival. Persons reserving Rivers Ridge Lodge must be responsible and over the age of 25.
We collect a security deposit of $500 which is fully refunded to you by check within 14 days of your departure after Property Manager has verified check-out procedures were performed and there is no damage to the Lodge or grounds beyond ordinary wear.
Sheets are not provided but are available upon request. Other bedding ie: pillows, comforters, blankets, mattress pads, etc. are on beds upon arrival with extra supplies stored throughout the house. The kitchen is fully stocked with cookware and dinnerware.

The Apaloosa Room has a full over queen bunk bed another queen and a loft with two twin size (firm) foam pads. The Western Carolina RR Room has twin foam pads in tandem and is connected to the Apaloosa Room by a door which can be closed off for privacy. Bunk House 1 has a built in single over double bunk, 2 windows and A/C. Bunk house 2 has 3 built in single+ bunks, 1 window and A/C.
