Take a dip or lounge by the heated pool reserved for Gulf View guests on your way to the beach or when you return. Stroll the smooth, sand beach south to Longboat Pass or north all the way to Bean Point. Watch the dolphins frolic in the emerald-green waters of the Gulf. Kids can wade, build sand castles or chase the gulls. Enjoy the antics of the pelicans and other diving birds as they plunge into the Gulf to catch fish. At the end of the day, kick back and delight in the gorgeous sunsets as seen from your private, screened balcony. There is absolutely nothing to block your view of this magnificent, daily extravaganza by Mother Nature.
Activities: Walk to shopping on picturesque Bridge Street in Bradenton Beach or ride the free Trolley to stores in Holmes Beach or the City of Anna Maria Drive to shopping at the famous St. Armand's Circle. A wide variety of excellent restaurants are less than 5 minutes away by foot and many more are a very short drive. Enjoy shelling, fishing, parasailing, swimming and miniature golf with out ever starting your car. Or, drive a short distance to outlet malls, golf courses, movie theaters, nature trails, high-end shopping, art galleries and the world renowned Ringling complex featuring an art gallery, circus museum and restored mansion. Venture further to Busch Gardens in Tampa (1 hour) or Disney World in Orlando (2 hours) Frequent special events include art fairs, farmers' markets, flea markets and historic celebrations.
Location: Anna Maria Island is about 16 miles due west of Exit 220 on Interstate 75. Sarasota/Bradenton International Airport is 20 minutes away and Tampa International Airport is about an hour north.
