Across from Kamaole III Beach Park: Our condo is directly across the street from Kamaole III Beach. This is the southern most of three beach parks along South Kihei Road. In Hawaiian they are spelled 'Kama'ole', with an okina (like an apostrophe), but the locals just call them the 'Kams'. Kam 2 is a couple of blocks to the north, and Kam 1 is less than a mile north, all within walking distance. Each beach is separated from the other by rocky outcroppings, which provide good snorkeling with plenty of fish to see (and the occasional turtle). A large grassy field separates the beach from the road, with trees for shade, picnic tables, restrooms, and outdoor showers. The waves are usually gentle and great for kids to play in. The condo includes beach towels and beach toys.

Shopping & Restaurants: A number of small shops and restaurants are within walking distance at the Rainbow Mall and the Dolphin Plaza. Farther north is the Kihei Town Center/Foodland Market, and the Piilani Shopping Center/Safeway. To the south you will find higher end shopping and restaurants at the Shops at Wailea. To the north is Lahaina and Ka'anapali where you can find every type of store imaginable. The restaurants nearby are reasonably priced and great for families. Within walking distance are Cafe O'Lei, Fred's Mexican Cafe, Moose's, and Denny's. Nearby, to the north, are Outback Steakhouse and Roy's Kihei Bar & Gril. Nearby, to the south in Wailea, you can find Cheeseburger Island Style and for fine dining try Spago, Tommy Bahamas, or Longhis.
