A few kid-friendly DVDs are stocked, and within walking distance, a Blockbuster rents movies, with most titles in English. Discovery channel, National Geographic, and movie channels as well as several news channels. Dog-friendly. Double sinks, walk-in showers, separate WCs, and hair dryers in both bathrooms, plus a jetted bathtub. Laundry closet with washer, dryer, wash tub, iron, ironing board, detergent, cleaning supplies and a step-stool. Easy access from parking to elevator -- good for strollers or those who don't handle stairs well. Lots of shaded outdoor space to keep sensitive ones out of the sun. Skateboard park a block away for teens or dog walking. Plenty of drawers, shelves, and closets.

Conveniences & Technology: Secure, sheltered parking -- reserved spaces outdoors and in the underground garage (most Alegranza units don't have this). Filtered water throughout; Refrigerator dispenses cold water and ice. Direct phone line to the concierge, property manager, guard gate, restaurant, other residents, and room service; cellphone for long-term renters. 3 HDTVs with 10 English-language cable stations, Blu-Ray DVD Player. Library of 80 CDs, including lots of jazz and Latin music, iPod docks in Living Room and Master Bedroom for charging iPhones and various iPods and listening to your own portable music library. Sophisticated multi-zone sound system. Wireless internet, password-protected, accessible throughout. Color printer guests may connect (via USB) to their own laptop computer. An extra electrical outlet and comfortable barstools with backs make the kitchen peninsula an easy place to set up your laptop.

Safety & Security: Safety has not been an issue. There’s a combination lock safe in the master bedroom closet. Alegranza has 24-hour security and a private guard-gated entry. Los Cabos is a thousand miles from the Mexican border and cities that suffered violence. There has not been a single case of H1N1 (“swine flu”) in Los Cabos or in the entire state of Baja California Sur, which is a thousand mile drive to Mexico City. [As of April 30, 2009.] The engineering exceeds the latest standards and codes. The building is mostly concrete and has been chosen by several owners in the high-end building business specifically because its quality surpasses other construction in the area. Alegranza has its own back-up power generator. Full hurricane shutters (we have a hurricane refund policy in our Rental Agreement, too, though we still recommend travel insurance). Water tanks on the premises. Resort-wide water purification system (ultraviolet & carbon filters) (& a climate less hospitable to bugs)
