Payment is usually accepted in the quoted currency unless the currency and the amount is specifically agreed in advance with the owner / advertiser.
- A cleaning fee of $150 is additional. 2 weeks+ stays have option of periodic cleaning at TBD rate.
- The property rents from 3 pm on Saturday to 10 am the next Saturday. A non-refundable Reservation Deposit of $300 is required. The rental agreement is available online at HomeAway. Consent to the agreement is required before payment of the Reservation Deposit. Upon request, a contract will be mailed to you. Please use HomeAway's payment system (easy for everyone and no credit card data ever changes hands).
A $500 security deposit is required 30 days before occupancy, refundable within 10 days after you vacate the rental, providing the property is left in satisfactory condition. One half of the remaining rental is required 60 days days prior to your scheduled move-in date. The remaining balance is required 30 days prior to move-in. All invoices will be sent to your email address at the appropriate intervals. Additional consecutive weeks will be discounted by $100 for weeks 2+. - October is a busy time on the Cape for weddings. Our house is large enough to accommodate a good sized wedding party and still provide everyone enough elbow room. Please give us a call if you would like to set something up. The parking area can easily accommodate 10-12 cars. If you have a family gathering planned for Thanksgiving or Christmas, call us for details on these periods.

About the house: Ten years ago, this property was a dense thicket of pitch pines, scrub oaks and huckleberry bushes. One of the last remaining lots off of a deed-restricted cul-de-sac, we saw a great home site with clear skies to the south, a private setting, and room to stretch. The house was finished in 2000. With more than 50 windows, the house has an open, light character. The core of the house is a huge country kitchen where the cooks are never out of touch. The outside is modeled on the classic Cape style of rambling additions. Inside, we stayed true to the natural beauty around us, using New England-sourced wood floors and simple, elegant finishes. Downstairs, the floors are wide board white pine, heart pine, and red pine. Upstairs, the floors are enameled. The house is set on a forested hill and nearly always has a light breeze on summer days. Off peak, a radiant heating system warms the house.
Relaxing on the three-season porch: The three season porch has interchangeable window and screen panels. With a southern orientation, the porch is the warmest, coziest spot in the house on any sunny day in the spring or fall. In the summer, it's the coolest location with screens on three sides and an overhead paddle fan. The house has several perennial gardens and many of the plant varieties bloom during the summer months. The enclosed, outdoor shower backs up to the garage, surrounded by hostas and beach grass. Off the backyard, a grassy path leads to another lawn area, perfect for wiffle ball or volleyball. A private path through the woods places you directly on the Cape Cod Rail trail for biking, jogging, walking, or roller blading. The basement is bright and dehumidified (cool and dry). People can be using the pool table or playing ping pong in the basement while others are reading in the quiet of the three season porch.
Activities: Three of our four children are now in their late teens/early twenties and, for the first time, working off-Cape this summer. We now have the opportunity to share this beautiful spot with others. All of our visitors, whether family, friends or the retired postmaster taking care of our lawn, have commented on the special spot our house occupies. While no more than 5 minutes from the beach, or 10 minutes from the Town Center or grocery shopping, you will truly feel 'away from it all' at the top of our little hill. Cranberry Valley Golf Course is less than 15 minutes down Route 39. Chatham, a busy center with art galleries, shops, and restaurants is 15 minutes away. Chatham is also a great place to watch some of nation's finest collegiate baseball players compete in the Cape Cod Baseball league. We will strive to exceed your expectations for a great vacation.
