Telluride House Details
Located on beautiful N. Oak St. in the center of Telluride is a truly wonderful family getaway. This” historic home” was redesigned, and built, by long time local designer/ builder Carroll McCarthy, of McCarthy Construction Corp. The owners, of over 30 years, have created the ideal mountain vacation home The big windows offer spectacular views of the Ski Area and the surrounding San Juan Mountains. This fabulous home is three and a half blocks up the hill from the gondola to the Mountain Village, and lifts to the top of the mountain. One can ski to the lift on a powder morning. Located a block and a half up from Main St., on the sunny side of Town, all restaurants, galleries and shops are within easy walking distance. The Sheridan Opera House is five doors down.
The living room, dining room and kitchen areas are all open, with incredible views of our surrounding red rock canyons and mountains. The antique dining table can seat up to ten - twelve in a squeeze. The recently remodeled gourmet kitchen has new appliances - a 36” Wolf gas stove, a GE Profile refrigerator and silent dishwasher. The office is located in the “historic house” and can be isolated so that you can get your work done, if necessary. An HP scanner/printer/fax machine, high speed Internet and computer connection are available for use.
There are four spacious bedrooms and three bathrooms. The large Master bedroom has vaulted ceilings, two decks, a king size “memory foam” bed, and it’s own bathroom. The tiled bathroom has a steamer/shower, “historic” (from original house) claw foot bathtub, bidet, and double sinks. Two of the bedrooms have queen beds. The ”historic” bedroom has a queen and a single bed. The recreation floor has a multi media room (with queen size pull out bed), a large pool table, a tropical jungle room with hot tub, a dart board, and a wet bar with frig/ice maker. This is also the “suit up to go skiing” place. The entire house is furnished with luxurious oriental rugs, antiques, fine china, books, movies, and music.
