- 4 bathrooms, 5 bedrooms, All luxury sheets, towels etc provided. We just completed a $700,000 remodel of Casa Bonita and it is beautiful! This $2,000,000 home is located in the historic district of Santa Fe on Palace Ave., one of the oldest streets in Santa Fe. Palace Ave. is named after the Palace of the Govenors from Spanish times,which is on Palace Ave. in the famous Plaza. This is the largest licensed rental home in the historical district. You are a 10 minute walk to the famous Plaza and Canyon Road from Casa Bonita. My wife, Bonita grew up in this famous house. She knows Santa Fe well and can help you with your Santa Fe planning. Casa Bonita is a short walk to Canyon Road and The Compound and El Farol Restaurants. We love to stroll over to Canyon Road for dinner. The very large great room has 12 foot high beamed ceilings with corbals and opens to the large granite counter top kitchen with all new appliances. It is great for entertaining and has a large flat screen cable TV.

Santa Fe House Details
The house is on the road to the ski basin for the skiers. Santa Fe Ski Basin is 20 minutes from Casa Bonita. Other activities you can take advantage of in the area include hiking, rock climbing, golfing, fishing, hunting, wildlife viewing, horseback riding, shopping, restaurants, museums, downhill skiing, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, and sledding. We love to go to the Bandelier National Cliff Dwellings site which is 45 minutes from Santa Fe. There are over a hundred cliff dwellings at Bandelier dating back a thousand years. You can climb latters to a number of the cliff dwellings and enjoy the view and then have lunch in the park. We also enjoy taking the Cumbres and Tolec Scenic Train from Chama to Osier in the summer. It is an old classic steam train from the mining and logging days. We recommend lunch at Osier and then a return on the train to Chama. It is a day long trip and a lot of fun. The views are stunning. There are also a number of Casinos near by.
Restaurants: We have the best location in Santa Fe and are a 10 minute walk to the famous Plaza and Canyon Road. If you come out the front door of Casa Bonita and turn left and walk a half block you are at the Santa Fe River. You can walk across the bridge to the Compound Restaurant for dinner. It takes about 10 minutes. If you continue past the Compound you are on Canyon Road and a 5 minute walk to El Farol Restaurant. These are two of our favorite Santa Fe Restaurants. El Farol is the oldest restaurant in Santa Fe. There are also lots of galleries on Canyon Road which are fun to stroll through. If you come out the front door and go down Palace Ave. you are a 10 minute walk to the Shed Restaurant. They have great lunches and dinners. If you continue down Palace Ave. you enter the Famous Plaza which has lots of galleries and several great restaurants. For breakfast we suggest the Plaza Cafe. It has a great menu. Also the Ore House is next door and has great lunches, dinners and entertainment.
Wineries: There are numerous wineries near Santa Fe. As you leave Santa Fe and head north towards Taos there are a number of wineries and tasting rooms along the highway. You can spend a fun day just stopping at the tasting rooms and trying their wines.
Ski: You can ski or snow board 20 minute away from Casa Bonita at Santa Fe Ski Basin. The lifts are open from Thanksgiving thru the first week of April. There are 7 lifts and 43 runs. The top of the mountain is over 12,000 feet so the snow is usually great. You can stop at 10,000 Waves Spa on the way back to Casa Bonita for a private jacuzzi and massage. Taos is an hour north of Santa Fe and has great skiing and snow boarding. The Taos Pueblo is open all year round and is a 1000 year old pueblo.
Golf: Try golfing at the Marty Sanchez Links de Santa Fe. The views from Marty Sanchez are incredible. You see the Sangre de Cristo, Jemez and Sandia ranges. The course is 7500 yards and is a championship course and has a great driving range. They have a full pro shop, food services and spectacular year round golf.
