Huddleston House Details
Cottage Details: Your guests will enjoy the comfortable queen-size bed in the guest room. The two full-size, fold-out couches in the living room provide extra sleeping space, if required. Sweet By and By is perfect for one or two couples -- or for a small family. Amenities include games in the coffee table, a DVD/VCR, stereo, and cable TV for quiet evenings inside. Everyone will enjoy the outdoor hot tub, no matter what the season! And the lake is especially peaceful and private in fall, winter and spring! Enjoy the expansive view from the party deck or the swing on the brand new walkway landing. Sitting in the windowed sun room with it's huge crank-open casement windows is like being in a tree house. It's a great place to relax while listening to the evening sounds, feeling the gentle breezes, and gazing at the lights reflecting off the water across the lake.
Bring your own boat and use the boat lift. If you have an RV, Sweet By and By has an RV Port with electric and water hook-ups. A pump-out is available at the nearby State Park which has a snack bar, playground and sandy beach. There are also water bikes, canoes etc... there for rent. Sweet By and By is just a few miles off the fabulously scenic Blue Ridge Parkway which passes through Roanoke. You'll want to make Sweet By and By your cottage on Smith Mountain Lake again and again!
Check Out Our Newest Improvements:: Come check out some of the new improvements we have made to help make your visit at Sweet By and By even more enjoyable as well as safe. We took great care not to change the quaint country charm that has been a trademark of Sweet By and By. We have installed beautiful new hardwood floors through out the living areas. There is a new lighted deck walkway down to the pier for comfort and safety. The screen porch has been enclosed to make a beautiful light and bright sun room with crank out casement windows to still allow our guests to enjoy the cool evening breezes and romantic night sounds. We have also done some small cosmetic improvements to make Sweet By and By that much more inviting. We hope you come and enjoy the new changes at 'Sweet' very soon!
