Boothbay Harbor House Summary

Seanook is a long-time family cottage on the shore of Linekin Bay. It's so close to the water that the tide comes in around and underneath it. Being here is like staying on a boat - except it doesn't rock. Panoramic windows and four decks put you over the water. Lounge in the hot tub as you watch spectacular sunsets. On a rainy night the pitter-patter on the roof will lull you to sleep. Wake up to the call of seabirds and the sloshing of little waves. The ever-changing moods of the bay will entertain you on three sides year-round. See vibrant colors develop along the shore in mid-October. In winter you can be toasty warm watching the cozy fire, and the ice floats on the bay all at once. Should you be lucky enough to get snowfall, the views are pristine! The transient weeks of May are spell-binding with pastel delicacy as tiny emerging leaves refresh the hillsides above an azure sea. If you want to relax, this is the spot!

Seanook is located in Mid-Coast Maine only three miles from Boothbay Harbor. Our unique spot at the head of Linekin Bay on our own little peninsula affords us water views on three sides including a tantalizing vista to the mouth of the bay and open ocean. You may decide to just sit and watch the play of light and wind on the water. Writers find Seanook a peaceful private retreat where they can work on their manuscripts. Children of all ages enjoy exploring the beaches to discover varied creatures that abound along the shore of the Gulf of Maine. Anglers can fish right off the dock. If you want to relax at any season, this is the spot! We welcome a couple as readily as a family or group of friends. Seanook is an ideal place for a small reunion or retreat. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do! Artist studios, gourmet seafood restaurants, antiquing, boating excursions, fishing, kayaking, hiking, and live theatre are some of the activities to be found in this area.

Boothbay Harbor House Rates

Payment is usually accepted in the quoted currency unless the currency and the amount is specifically agreed in advance with the owner / advertiser.

  • $1150 - $2400 per week; $350 - $500 for 2 nights.
  • Two Special Offers for Winter, see below. In the winter we have a Two Night Minimum from November through the first two weeks of May. Rates range from $175/night for two people ($350 for two nights) to $250 a night for three to eight people ($500 for two nights). Two people may rent Seanook for $1150 per week in the Winter. The regular Winter weekly rate is $1400 for up to 8 people.
    Rent two weeks for $2400! that's half the summer rate.
    A 50% non-refundable deposit is required in advance to hold your reservation. As damage deposit we will require you to fill out a form with your credit card information which we will not charge unless there is damage, replacement or excessive cleaning necessary after your stay.
  • Seanook is rented weekly, Saturday to Saturday exclusively, except in Winter. Please click on the Availability Calendar icon!
    Summer: June 14 - September 12, 2008 $2400/week.
    Shoulder: Memorial Day week and the first two weeks of June, the last two weeks of September, all of October, and Thanksgiving week $2000/week.
    Winter: November through the first three weeks of May $1400/week. We also offer per person/per night rates for this period with a Two Night Minimum and a special WEEKLY rate for just TWO PEOPLE. See above!
    An $800 non-refundable security deposit (or 1/2 rent) is required in advance per week, and is included in your total rent. After you contact us, we will email you our contract/rate sheet for you to print, sign and return with your deposit to hold your time. As damage deposit, on your arrival you must sign a credit card release form authorizing charges should we find damage, replacement, or excessive cleaning necessary after your stay.

Relaxing Romantic Getaway: Seanook is a romantic getaway in any season! If you want to relax, this is the spot. You may decide to just sit and observe the play of light and wind on the water. Watch seagulls, osprey, and an occasional eagle soar. You'll see a variety of ducks in winter, and perhaps a seal or a beaver in summer. Read a book or sunbathe on the upper deck. Go beach-combing on either side of the house to discover varied creatures that abound along the shore of the Gulf of Maine. Go swimming in our warmer-than-normal cove. And go kayaking if it's calm (we provide the kayak). Anglers of any age can fish right off the dock. Writers find Seanook a peaceful private retreat where they can work on their manuscripts. Day hikes in one of the many land preserves are a favorite outdoor activity. Or, you can take a picnic to Ocean Point, and watch the waves roll in from the open sea and the ships pass by. How about a romantic sail at sunset?

Other things to do in the area: Some of the best eateries are right here in East Boothbay. The harbor is just three miles away, and offers many shops, boat excursions, and MORE gourmet restaurants. Live theatre has a dramatic presence in Boothbay Harbor with events nightly at the Opera House, including Family Night on Tuesdays; or dinner theatre at the Carousel Playhouse. Afternoon tea is a yearly tradition with some of our long time renters. Visit the aquarium in summer, where children's programs and classes enhance the quality of the coastal experience. Explore a lighthouse, go antiquing, or go gallery hopping starting with nearby Paradise Studio. L.L.Bean and other outlets are just an hour away in Freeport. Acadia National Park is a three to four hour drive down east, with miles of scenic coastline and quaint villages to explore in between. Perhaps you would like deep sea fishing.
