Moneta Condo for Rent: Couples Retreat at Bernards Landing - Property 214854

Our condo was totally updated and redecorated in 2003 and the bedroom again in late 2006. Our unit is in excellent condition and very clean. We've taken great care to thoughtfully furnish it for ourselves and our guests. All new living room furniture was added in 2003 including: new sleeper sofa with an upgraded queen-size mattress, swivel rocker recliner, and 27-inch stereo TV and entertainment center. The fresh paint (2007) and pictures and accessories create a relaxing 'British West Indies' vacation look and feel inside. The living area also offers a wood-burning fireplace if you want to add another element of romance to your getaway. The spacious bedroom includes a new flat screen TV, new bedding, and all new bedroom furniture. We receive lots of guest compliments on our luxurious Sealy Posturepedic pillow-top mattress.

The condo is equipped with two cable TVs, DVDs/VCR and CD player. Bring your movie/music collection or enjoy some of ours. Other entertainment items include board games, cards, books, magazines, and two tennis rackets. The full size kitchen was also newly painted and is equipped with a new full-size refrigerator, oven, new dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, blender, and all kitchen accessories. We provide a list of dining establishments too if interested. A washer/dryer, iron and full-size ironing board are also provided. Linens, towels, and paper products are included too. Water activities at Smith Mountain Lake include power boating, canoeing, sailing, para sailing, swimming, fishing, water skiing, wake boarding, and jet skiing. There's a boat ramp and guest boat slips located right on the resort property. Bring your own watercraft or rent from one of several rental companies (boats, jet skis, kayaks, para sailing, etc.) that make it easy for you to get on the lake.

Optionally, view the lakefront scenery and million dollar homes from the Virginia Dare, a 19th century side paddle wheeler, which offers cruises on the lake. Bernard's Landing is conveniently located a short 10-15 minute drive to the Westlake and Bridgepoint plaza areas where you will find a variety of restaurants, quaint specialty stores, grocery & drug stores, and a movie theater. There is also an excellent restaurant and fun tiki bar (both open year round) at Bernard's Landing just a short walk across the street from the condo. Your vacation to Smith Mountain Lake can be whatever you choose. Relax by the swimming pool, on the lake, or from the patio. If you want to venture out, sightseeing options include wineries, the Smith Mountain Dam Visitors Center, the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford, Booker T. Washington National Park, Smith Mt. Lake State Park, Transportation Museum and Explore Park in Roanoke, or the Peaks of Otter near the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Golf: You can also enjoy playing tennis at Bernard's Landing, taking walks around the resort, or playing golf at several of the public courses nearby. Smith Mountain Lake is approximately 45 minutes drive from Roanoke and Lynchburg, VA; 2.5 hours from Richmond, VA; 3.5-4 hours from Washington DC; and 2 hours from Greensboro, NC.
