Before you get to Yal ku you will pass Que Onda Italian restaurant serving fresh pasta, Italian specialties, fine wines and yummy deserts. A convenience store is by the parking lot in front of the condos for last minute items. Farther south down the north Akumal road are more restaurants, convenience stores, La Buena Vida bar/restaurant and their dive shop, and finally the heart of Akumal at Akumal Bay. There you will find grocery stores, gift shops, Lol ha beach bar and restaurant, two dive shops, and of course, famous Akumal main beach. Both Akumal main beach and Half Moon Bay are famous for marine turtles who can usually be seen on any given snorkeling session. The beautiful Tulum Ruins are only 20 minutes drive, there are several local cenotes 5 minutes away.
