South You Can Visit Linville Caverns, Linville Falls And Gorge, And When The Time Is Right Ski Sugar Mtn. And Beech Mtn., In Banner Elk. Visit Grandfather Mountain With Its Mile High Swinging Footbridge And Zoo. Have Some Family Fun At The Tweetsie Railroad Located Between Boone And Blowing Rock. You Can Mine Stones At Gem Mountain In Spruce Pine. Nearby, Elk Park Has A Beautiful 75 Ft Waterfall You Won't Want To Miss. Many Waterfalls To See And Visit (15) Are Within An Hours Drives. Both Elk Park And Banner Elk Offer A Variety Of Antique And Gifts Shops.

Ski: The Lazy Bear Lodge Is Only Minutes From Banner Elk, Where You Will Find Three Ski Resorts. Sugar Mountain, Which Offers Not Only Snow Skiing, But Snowboarding And Tubing Also For The Whole Family. They Have Rental Equipment For 3,000 Skiers. Longest Run 1 1/2 miles. Beech Mountain At 5,506 Feet, Offers The Highest Skiing In Eastern North Carolina, Lift Capacity Is 9,300 Skiers Per Hour. Many Shops, Restaurants And Entertainment At The Village. Hawknest Ski Area Is Situated On Seven Devils Mountain In North Carolina. The Ski Area Is Just 30 Minutes From The Cabin. The Mountain Has A Peak Elevation Of 4, 819 Feet Giving A Vertical Drop Of 683 Feet. It Has 20 Acres Of Skiable Area With 12 Trails And 2 Lifts.
