The lake and the many outdoor facilities at Bernards are enough to keep anyone busy; but we realize that everyone must come inside at some point. Our condo has been privately owned and had never been on the rental market until we purchased it on July 26, 2000. The unit is in excellent condition and was completely remodeled in May, 2001; it is beautifully furnished to offer you every thing that you might need to make your vacation a memorable stay. The living room and dining room stretch across the back of the condo, and offer lake and mountain views. A wood-burning fireplace in the corner of the living room is available if you need to warm up a chilly night, or just give a warm glow to a romantic evening. (This is a Great honeymoon destination!) As with most rentals, we furnish a TV with cable; but we also provide a VCR with a collection of video tapes -- old and new -- for your relaxation. An assortment of board games, cards, books, and magazines are also provided.

Our unit includes all linens, towels, and paper products. The only thing that you'll need to bring is your food, if you want to use the full-size kitchen. A washer and dryer are furnished for your convenience. If you prefer to dine out, there is a world class restaurant (The Landing) overlooking the marina and just a short walk across the street. A cozy lounge/tiki bar, open year round, offers entertainment on the weekends during the summer and a snack bar is located at one of the swimming pools. There is a boat ramp on the property and boat docks are available in front of the condo. There is a $6.00 charge for keeping your boats at the docks. Smith Mountain Lake is the largest freshwater lake in the state of Virginia, and has often been called the 'Lake Tahoe' of the East. The waters are clean and clear, and the mountains plunging steeply into the lake are truly dramatic.

The lake is over 40 miles long, has a 500 mile shoreline, and offers some of the best fishing and water sports on the east coast. Most of the state's Striped Bass records have been caught in Smith Mountain Lake, including the current state record of approximately 54 pounds.
