Puerto Plata Villa Summary

Villa de La Familia is a lovely villa that is the perfect getaway. It's like having your own little corner of paradise! The villa sleeps up to 12 people. The property is beautifully landscaped with tropical flowers, plants and trees. The pictures really don't do it justice ...it's so beautiful in person! The patio has a table, chairs, a gas grill and a bar area. Just a few steps down and you're under the kiosk which has a dining table and rocking chairs. Walk down the path and you're in front of the swimming pool and kiddie pool. There are eight lounge chairs poolside. You will have your meals prepared and served by Isabela, your cook/maid. She's a great cook and serves you with a smile! She'll do your laundry and clean the villa daily. If you have a group of six or more people, then you'll have two maids at no extra cost to you. There is also an on premise caretaker Luis, he keeps the pool and the grounds clean and is a help at all times.

Villa de La Familia is on the North coast of the Dominican Republic which is also called the ' Ambar Coast '. The historical city of Puerto Plata is 3 miles from the villa. You do not need to rent a car unless you want to. You are only steps away from ...the beach, restaurants, a casino, mini food markets, a marina and the ever popular Ocean World.

Payment is usually accepted in the quoted currency unless the currency and the amount is specifically agreed in advance with the owner / advertiser.

  • 5/01/08-12/14/08: $125.00/Daily (4 Guests) $20.00/day each additional guest
    12/15/07-04/30/08: $165.00/Daily (4 Guests) $25.00/day each additional guest
  • There is 13% tax on the total. There is a minimum 4 day stay required.
    Gratuities are not included unless there is a large group. Suggested tip is $3/day per person for the maid and $1.50/day per person for the caretaker.

  • There are 3 bathrooms in the villa. Each 2 bedroom suite has it's own and then there is one in the hallway that the other 2 bedrooms share. There is also a bathroom outside near the pool that is perfect for rinsing the sand off from the beach before you go in to the pool.

  • Villa de La Familia has two, 2 bedroom suites each having it's own bathroom. One suite has a queen bed in each bedroom and the other suite has a queen bed in one room and 2 twin beds in the other room. Plus 2 single bedrooms that share the hallway bathroom. Each having a queen size bed. In total, it has 5 queen size beds and 2 twin size beds able to sleep 12 people. All the bedrooms have air conditioning and ceiling fans. Sometimes when the nights are cool I leave the windows open and let the sound of the ocean waves lull me to sleep. The villa has a unique floor plan, if you are interested, I can e mail it to you.

Notes: Villa de La Familia is right up the road from Ocean World ...where you can swim with dolphins, sharks and sting rays. It is a fantastic attraction to visit. They have a coral reef where you can swim and snorkel with beautiful tropical fishes. There is a bird sanctuary and rain forest where you can feed and view parrots, tucans and love birds. Ocean World is a real interactive hands on adventure. Our visits there have been the highlights of our vacations!

You will love swimming under the specular stars at night. I can spend hours looking at all the constellations! Don't get me wrong, the nightlife in Puerto Plata is full of energy! You can dance at the disco all night long, enjoy a restaurant, go to the casino, or just walk along the beach....and everything I just mentioned is all within walking distance from La Familia. There is a lot to do and see in the Puerto Plata area too. Whether you choose to be on the go or stay at the villa and relax. I'm sure you will return home with many fond and funny memories!
