Known as a mecca of shopping and dining, you will experience authentic Greek, Japanese, Chinese, Italian, Malaysian, Indian, and Pacific Northwestern cuisine all within several blocks. From family-friendly diners to the shi-shi Gastropod, you have your pick of nearly 150 neighborhood restaurants. In summer months, walk down the street to take in late-evening fireworks ('Symphony of Fire'), a Shakespeare production at 'Bard on the Beach', or a swim in Canada's longest outdoor pool (Kits Pool). In cooler weather, check out nearby Granville Island (families will love the Kids' Market) visit the H. R. Macmillan Space Centre with its virtual simulator, hike through the wooded trails at UBC, or go on a quest for the perfect cinnamon roll. This neighborhood is Vancouver at its most genuine.

Sight-Seeing: World-famous ski and alpine resort, Whistler Mountain, is just 78 miles away. Perfect in any season. Grouse Mountain is less than 10 miles away (also accessible by transit). For a panoramic view of the city, take the tram to the top of the mountain and or choose to climb the 2800 ft. to the top. Families with young children may enjoy observing the orphaned grizzly bears, riding the chair lift, or being entertained at the logging show.
