Lake Toxaway House Details
Lake Activities: At Lake Toxaway, you can enjoy swimming, sun bathing, kayaking, fishing (with proper license). The lake is all fresh water, fed by numerous mountain streams, and is always refreshing! We have a spacious, gently rolling lot going right to our private dock with a 22-foot deck boat you can rent on a daily or weekly basis. We furnish bait and fishing gear for a cost of only $100. The boat holds 13 people. It has two bass seats, a trolling motor and a live well. While there is no guarantee you will catch a fish, one group caught a 26 inch Walleye!
Country Club : Full Lake Toxaway Country Club Privileges are available ($25 sign up fee per family) for our guests. All guests receive a spiral-bound informational book and 3-D map, provided with the rental. These books contain information about nearby restaurants, craft and antique shops, numerous hiking trails, waterfalls, horseback riding stables, white-water rafting and information about snow skiing. Families have been drawn to the dramatic mountain views and crystal clear waters of Lake Toxaway for years. In the early 1900's famous names like Henry Ford, Thomas Edison and Harvey Firestone could be found in the registers of local hotels and country clubs at Toxaway.
Other Amenities: The laundry room offers a washer, dryer, ironing board, iron, and vacuum cleaner. The kitchen includes a full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, stove/oven, drip coffee maker, toaster, blender, eight settings of silverware and dinnerware, basic cooking spices, plus all the gadgets and utensils you'll need (corkscrew included). There is a large heating fireplace along with owner-provided wood. Our game shelf includes several games, and our video shelf contains over thirty videos of both recent and older movies.
Golf: Go golfing at the world-renowned High Hampton Country Club or Sapphire Mountain Golf Club. You can golf at Lake Toxaway Country Club.
Guest Book: Two weeks Vacation in the Fall 2002 Two great weeks! The leaves put an incredible show for us. We hiked, shopped, rode the parkway, went to crafts show in Asheville, watched Alabama beat Tennessee and had a great boat trip on Lake Toxaway. Your neighbor Joe was wonderful. He blew the leaves from our driveway and took us on a boat trip. We had a week with relatives from California and a week alone. You home was perfect for a crowd or a couple. You've done a great job of elevating a 'rental' to a home. Thanks for a well equipped kitchen. We had enjoyable meals with several cooks amongst us. Yes, we had everything we needed! My husband appreciated your comfortable mattresses and your never ending water heater. You have a wonderful home which exhibits a lot tender loving care. Thanks for sharing it. One Week Vacation Summer 2002 Where Heaven touches the earth there surely is Lake Toxaway! Rented a canoe and explored every drop of the lake. My boys, 3 year old twins, loved to fish
