  11.5% lodging tax. Lodging tax applies to stays of 28 days, or less. Guests must stay for 29 days, or more, to avoid paying the lodging tax. Guests can not, for example, pay for a month, and stay 28 days, and expect to avoid the lodging tax. February has 28 days in a non-leap year. In a non-leap year, guests are supposed to be charged lodging tax. Also, if a guest reserves for a month which has more than 28 days, and has to leave before having stayed 29 days, the lodging tax is supposed to be paid. The City of Palm Springs is very clear on the collection of the lodging tax.
• There is no cleaning fee, as long as the unit is left in good condition. Guests are not replacing the cleaning service. Additional cleaning takes place after guests check out. Guest are responsible for leaving the condos in a normal clean condition, to avoid charges. This is normal clean-as-you-go type cleaning. These are reasonable expectations. It is very rare that a guest would ever be charged extra charges. It would have to be an obvious disregard for normal cleaning standards.
