The Tahoe area offers a variety of outdoor recreation in the summertime, ranging from fishing and hiking to parasailing and windsurfing. Biking enthusiasts will enjoy numerous nearby bike paths, dirt roads and single track trails. When the season changes, world renowned slopes challenge even the most expert skier or boarder. Other winter activities include sledding, ice skating, cross-country skiing/snowshoeing, ice fishing and snowmobiling. It will take you approximately 3 hours to drive from San Francisco and only 1.5 hours from Sacramento on Interstate 80.
