Nuevo Vallarta Condo Details
The Place: Paradise Village was developed approximately 20 years ago (so its pretty modern) with families with kids in mind which is why we bought here. It's very safe and secure. Very clean and well maintained. The restaurants are pretty good and every night is some sort of dining event. Our kids liked Monday night Mexican fiesta night since they got to eventually fall into the pool with their clothes on! Quiet hours are by 11pm. Anything bought at the property is charged to your room. Walk out of the building and the pools and beach are right there! There are plenty of chairs at the pool and beach. The beach has palapas (Thatch roof umbrella and little table) and waiters walk around offering you everything! Check out the fitness center for American style exercise equipment and there is a Spa which my now older daughters and wife adore. I love the steam room on the mens' side. There is a lap pool and tennis courts.
The Area: There is a walking distance little shopping mall with informal restaurants (Ben n Jerry, McDonald's etc), clothing etc. There is a good grocery store where we get bottled water and some room snacks. It has a pharmacy and a liquor department. There is an ATM which dispenses Pesos. In the area are a number of good restaurants which are a few minute cab rides. Work with the concierge for off-site dinner reservations and off-site activities.
City of Puerto Vallarta: The property is located about 25 minutes north of the City of Puerto Vallarta in an area called Nuevo Vallarta. As opposed to the city of Puerto Vallarta, this area has fantastic beaches and is quite new. The City can be accessed by cab (suggested) or bus. There is fun 'marketa' shopping as well as boutique shops and the like. There are lots of tourist dining places like Senor Frogs, some more local family style dining places like Pipis (huge margaritas and great guacamole, kids like it) and the more formal restaurant La Palapas. Ask for a table on the beach and watch the sun set! There is an older section of the City made famous in the classic movie 'The Night of the Iguana' which also has art galleries and other unique sights. The City is safe and cabs are plentiful.
Golf: Paradise Village has its own 18 hole golf course and club-house. Need to book a tee time.
