if you love history or architecture: ...our location right in Historic Beaufort is ideal. The scale of town is walkable and very quaint. Est. 1711, this chic 'city home' for sea island plantation families was captured by Union troops during the Civil War. The homes around ours became hospitals or officers quarters. Lack of income following the War resulted in little to no modernization, but today's owners continue their preservation. Both the town and adjacent sea islands offer rich stories of Anglo and African American history. Our place is in the heart of acres of Antebellum buildings.

If you love boutique shopping, art galleries: ...museums and restaurants, you'll be pleased. Island Town House is convenient to all these. Walk along streets lined with ancient oaks, dripping with beautiful Spanish moss. Enjoy a stop at the museum or chocolate shop along the way. Outlet shopping is also available a short drive away.

If you love the ocean: ....a short drive away is the Atlantic Ocean! Shell hunting, beach combing, sun bathing, boogie boarding, kayaking, surfing and extreme sports. Hunting Island State Park has no high-rise condos, instead, a lovely lighthouse and tall palms line the beach. A special treat is watching sea turtles hatch from their eggs and rush into the sea under the moonlight, kayaking along the marsh ecosystem, or horse back riding along the wave line.

Guest Book: I've just returned from a wonderful time at the 'Island Town House'. As an airline employee, I frequently travel all across the world for business and leisure. I've stayed at very nice places, as well as not-so-nice places. The Island Town House was one of the most comfortable and cozy places I've had the opportunity to stay. It's evident that the owners are architects, as all living areas are well designed and furnished with high-quality furniture, interesting artwork (some created by the owners!) and fun knickknacks. It seemed like every last detail was thought out! The intracoastal waterway is steps from the front porch, and we ate plenty of fresh seafood at nearby restaurants. I recommend this home to individuals, couples and families. I look forward to coming back for some R&R in the future. Thanks for a great stay!
