Hilo House Details
Activities: Our vacation home is on the Hamakua Coast with wonderful scenic ocean views. It is close to the historical town of Hilo where one can shop and dine on the bay front. The Local Farmers' Market is every Wed. and Sat. Meet the locals and buy fresh pineapples and mangoes. Tour the macadamia farm and drive up to the Volcanoes. Mana Kea is a 45 minute drive and has a educational center. Kilauea National Volcano Park is south of Hilo. The park has hiking trails along with lava tubes and an informative visitors center with guides.
Snorkeling, surfing and hiking: Take a short five minute walk to the ocean and swim where the river meets the ocean. Surf in the ocean or snorkel at the sandy beaches in town. Akaka Falls is a short 15 minute drive where you can experience a beautiful nature hike. County Parks and the Botanical Gardens are only 5 minutes away.
