Overview: Completed in 2007, Villa RaJa is one of Bali's newest and most luxuriously appointed private villas. Yet the moment you enter it's as if you've taken a time machine back to Bali's golden era of architecture. Turning 90 degrees against the decorating tide of white on white, owners Ralph and Janet Hogan set out to create an architectural masterpiece to showcase the myriad traditional textures, styles, arts and crafts for which Bali is so rightly famous. Crafted by two of the island's most talented traditional builders, this is a structure of great beauty with a timeless patina which weaves state of the art technology into a fabulous fabric of antiquity. 400 year old timbers, richly carved paneling, textures of coral, pebbles, limestone and marble decorate every aspect of the building. Like the country which inspired it, Villa RaJa is itself an unforgettable cultural experience.

In-house services : On your arrival, you will be greeted by the villa manager who will welcome you with a cool drink, explain where everything is and introduce you to the staff. The villa manager can also help you plan your stay and assist with any tourist or restaurant bookings as well as organising a car and driver if required. In-house massages, yoga classes, hair cuts, beauty therapies, diving classes etc; can all be booked through our villa manager. Our housekeeper, Wayan is a trained cook and can prepare delicious meals from our in-house menu. You only pay for the ingredients which staff will purchase for you fresh from the local market. The dining gazebo seats 10 people so you can even host your own dinner parties - just let Wayan know in advance. She will also organise your laundry and service your rooms.

Location: Nestled in the heart of the charming village of Canggu, where the locals go about their daily rituals of preparing for temple celebrations, growing rice and living a traditional life, Villa RaJa provides a genuine experience of the real Bali that you will never find in more built up tourist areas. Yet this unique and totally relaxing refuge is only 10 minutes drive from world famous surfing mecca, Echo Beach; 20 minutes from fashionable Seminyak, Bali's hub of nightlife and fine dining and 40 minutes from the airport. It is the perfect base from which to explore and enjoy the huge range of activities this incredible island has to offer. Safely removed from the urban sprawl of nearby Kerobokan and Seminyak, Villa RaJa overlooks an ever-changing vista of emerald green rice terraces, processions of ducks, gaily fluttering scare crows and huge airborne kites.
