Local nature tourism vendors offer a variety of outdoor activities that include: overnight backpack trips, wild land hikes, family float trips, bonfires, etc. Hunting, of course, has always been a popular sport in Garrett County. The state of Maryland maintains over 80,000 acres of public hunting lands.
