The Harwich Area: Those with small children may not want to leave Bucks Pond (freshwater) but there are 16 salt water beaches on Nantucket Sound in Harwich, about 10 minutes from the house. The town boasts 2 golf courses, the Bike Trail, and beautiful harbors. Within 1 mile is a movie theater and 2 large shopping areas with pharmacy, pizza, package store, Dunkin' Donuts, Chinese food, a great restaurant, video store, photo store and Super Stop & Shop - open 24 hours a day. Aerial Maps: These pictures are from Google Earth and show the immediate neighborhood and the expanded view to show the path to Buck's Pond Harwich Beaches Harwich has 16 beautiful beaches on Nantucket Sound, plus four on freshwater ponds. Stickers are required for parking, and are available at Town Hall on Rt. 39, (508) 432-7638. Residents get stickers for $5 a season. The cost for nonresidents, who must show proof of renting in Harwich, is $25 for a week, $40 for two weeks and $50 a season for temporary resident.
Autumn Activities on the Cape: Fall is a fabulous time of year to visit Cape Cod. With its crimson-colored landscape, dramatic sunsets and weather tempered by an Indian summer, the mood following the busy summer season is relaxed but still offers much to experience!
