Nearby Hiking and Fishing: The nearby Mahoosuc and White Mountains provide world-class hiking while the Androscoggin River at the foot of Howard Pond Avenue offers outstanding fly and spin fishing for trout and small mouth bass. Fishermen will enjoy both wading and drift boating. Guide services are available and a public landing is located behind the Town Hall.
Howard Pond: A private dock, beach and canoe are yours to enjoy all Howard Pond has to offer – boating (motorized boat traffic is rare), fishing (trout and land locked salmon), swimming or just lazing the afternoon away on the dock with your toes in the water. The aptly named “Sunset Lodge” basks in the sun all day and catches the final rays and dramatic sunsets from its western facing porches and dock.
