Missoula Lodge Summary
This cedar home is nestled near a mountain range that borders the Rattlesnake Wilderness and also offers spectacular views of the Mission Mountain peaks. With a granny house nearby, it can accommodate easily 20 people. The house is fully furnished. On a large deck there is a hot tub and a barbecue. The East Fork of Finley Creek runs nearby. Wireless, satellite TV and local phone service are provided. Located in a small valley north of the university town of Missoula, Cougar Ranch is only 20 minutes from downtown, but it's a different world. The airport is 10 minutes away. The ranch is on the Flathead Indian Reservation. In the small town of Arlee, 7 miles away, you may enjoy local artists, rodeos and traditional powwow celebrations. While you may rent the whole lodge at Cougar Ranch, if you prefer to be pampered, the host will offer bed and breakfast accommodations and gourmet food. Recreational activities include fishing, hiking, kayaking, skiing, biking, horse riding.

There are many hiking opportunities: In the Rattlesnake Wilderness; the Bob Marshall Wilderness; the Bitterroot/Selway range; the Mission Mountains, the Swan mountain range. Fly fishing available in several streams and rivers. Ask your host for a list of guides and outfitters for fishing and whitewater rafting or kayaking. The Missoula area also offers several golf courses. As a university town, Missoula has many cultural happenings. Watch for the Wildlife Fillm Festival, the Book Festival, concerts by local groups. On the Flathead Indian Reservation, artists present unique art and musical events. Watch for the Drum Brothers concerts, cowboy poetry evenings in the town of Arlee, and the famous Arlee rodeo.
