Hartwell is a premiere fishing destination and the site of the prestigious 2008 Bassmaster Classic tournament. Fish for largemouth bass, crappie, bream or record-breaking striped bass (a 59.6 lb striper set the record here in 2002). Boat rentals are available & fishing guides can be arranged. Drive to the cool north Georgia Mountains for hiking, waterfalls, trout fishing, tubing, white-water rafting, horseback riding, and scenic drives.
