The Story of Your Mountain Home ~: We had been visiting family in Colorado for 12 years. In the summer of 2006 we rented a vacation home in Evergreen for two weeks. We fell in love with the area and decided that we would find a vacation home for ourselves and rent it out when we were not using it. We knew that we wanted to be close to the village, on a road with easy access. We wanted an older home loaded with charm and unique details. We wanted room for our entire family to gather for special occasions. Thanks to a fabulous realtor, we found the perfect place. We spent the summer of 2007 renovating, ripping out bathrooms and replacing inadequate appliances. We had to furnish and equip the house from the ground up. Remember, we thought that we were working on OUR house, renting to others was a secondary consideration. We wanted to be surrounded by comfort and quality, and made our purchases accordingly. It turned out that we loved Evergreen so much that we bought a primary home and moved here!

What Makes Your Mountain Home Special?: Everything about Your Mountain Home is special! It was built in the 50's and lovingly expanded over the years. It's owner was a woodcarver, and his work is all around. Check out his hand-carved entry door - it has a scene from the poem 'Under the Spreading Chestnut Tree' on it. There are six hand-carved panels framing the huge opening from the dining room into the living room. There is even a totem pole! We selected furnishings, accessories and art that complement the cabin without being kitschy. It is suitable for a comfortable family gathering, romantic getaways or more formal event. There are place settings for 12, and plenty of wine, martini and champagne glasses to go around. The kitchen is well-equipped with ample pots, pans, knives and basic spices. Basic paper goods are also provided. There is wireless broadband internet, free local and domestic long distance telephone service and basic cable. There are more than 50 DVD's to choose from.

Why Stay at Your Mountain Home?: LOCATION - while you are just 1/4 mile as the crow flies from the village, you have the views, wildlife, quiet and privacy usually found in more remote areas. ACCESS - you are on a paved and county maintained road overlooking the Heart of Evergreen with views of Mount Evans. You have easy access to just about anywhere. AFFORDABILITY - a party of five can stay in the house for a week for less than $350 per person. (Assumes that Security Deposit is returned in full.) FAMILY FRIENDLY - from the porta-crib and high chair to the toys, games and art supplies, Your Mountain home is geared for families. Seniors can enjoy it too - The living and dining rooms, kitchen, master bedroom, laundry, hot tub and a bath are all on the first floor. There are three gentle steps into the house and one gentle step leading into the living room. COMFORT - Relax and soothe your body and spirit with comfort all around you.
