Thomaston Apartment Summary

Property resides in a residential neighborhood that borders forested land. Besides a short walk to downtown , a path right out the back door leads to the 'Georges Highland Path' where you can explore 30 miles of trails! The building is what use to be a working boat shop and now has 4 apartments and still has boat storage. Thomaston has a great 4th ofJuly celebration including fireworks! Historic Thomaston where U.S. RT 1 runs through town sits at a pivotal place to explore Penobscot Bay and the surrounding islands.Walk downtown to a small cafe that turns out some of best award winning entrees. Recently ,grand opening of 'Billy's Tavern ' what feels like a Irish Pub ! Thomaston has a outdoor museum where you can follow a street map of past Ship Captain homes. George Washington's Secretary of War 'Henry Knox' Mansion.5 miles to the north is Rockland where the Farnsworth museum has some of the more extensive collections of Andrew Wyeth. The annual Lobster festival in August is world famous. The Blues festival, the Boats and Harbor Festival ! East out of Thomaston and catch the ferry to Monhegan Island , a artist colony, 100 year old Inns and home to the seabird 'Puffins ' Head 15 miles south to Darmiscota where numerous cafes and shops look out onto the bay. Camden 15 miles to the north , home to many historic schooners that have daily and weekly excursions!

Notes: Apartments have been just completed , every thing is new. 1st floor is ceramic tile , no carpeting. Tenant reported apartment was very cool in summer . Apartments do have heat. Entry living area has a cathedral ceiling with ceiling fan. Has a Florida/ cottage room feel !

Motorcycling Touring: Maine has some really great roads for motorcycling ! Lets get out the maps and I can help you with some really great rides. I personally own a BMW 1100RS that has been my way of seeing alot of Maine. Recent years has taken me to New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, and Labrador. My most memorable trip was to Montana with some really good friends. Every last Sunday of the month a BMW group I ride with meets at a different diner around the state .Thomaston has a great little cafe with some of the best gourmet meals .Afew miles to Rockland and I have yet to find a better donut , Willow Bake Shop . How good is it ? My future son in law asked me for my daughters hand over a donut & coffee. Why not join us ?
