Local Attractions & Transportation: Over 170 wineries (see if you can visit all of them!), Mid State Fair & Event Center, Ravine Water Park, Hunter Ranch Golf Course, Heart Castle, Estrella Warbird Musuem, Paso Robles Children's Museum at the Volunteer Firehouse, Pioneer Museum, Pacific Ocean Beaches, Antique Shops, Hot Air Ballon rides, Helicopter Tours, Visit local area Lighthouses (2), Local Missions (3), State Parks, National Forests, Big Sur Coastline. The closest airport with scheduled airline service is in San Luis Obispo (30 miles to the south). San Jose and San Francisco International Airports are located a 2 to 3 hour drive to the north. Los Angeles International Airport is a 3 hour drive to the south. Paso Robles has a small airport that is available for private airplanes. The property is located 6 blocks from the Amtrak railroad station and the Greyhound Bus terminal. Local car rentals are readily available with most major agencies. Guided wine tours can be booked through several local companies.
Local Events : Amgen Bike Race, Wildflower Triathlon, Wine Festival, Mid-State Fair, Winemaker BBQ Cook-Off, Pioneer Day Parade, Harvest Wine Tour, Eagle Watch Tours @ Lake San Antonio (Jan-Feb), Equestrian Events, Car Shows, Bike Rallies.
Climate: The Paso Robles region is characterized by warm clear days during the summer months with daytime high temperatures ranging from 80 to 100+ degree (F). Late afternoons and evenings are cooled by a marine layer that flows through the Templeton Gap in the nearby Santa Lucia Mountains and down the Salinas River valley. This makes for pleasant evenings outside on the balcony.
