Bellaire / Shanty Creek Condo Details
Activities: Shanty Creek is a four season resort comprised of three unique villages, Summit, Schuss and Cedar River. The Summit has undergone major renovations this year, including the new Lakeview Dining Room, overlooking Lake Bellaire. Shanty has something to offer for all the family. Championship golf courses that wind throughout the villages, tennis, disc 'frisbee' golf, mountain bike trails, hiking, family adventure days, outdoor movie theater, scavenger hunts, bonfires and story telling, Indoor/outdoor pools, fitness spa. There are programs available for children with day camps and also licensed day care. The local villages of Bellaire and Alden offer movies, restaurants and shopping. Shanty is close to Traverse City, Charlevoix and Petosky. Take a day trips to Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore or Mackinaw Island.Kayak, raft or canoe the Jordan River. Public boat launch on Lake Bellaire.
Golfing: Golfing: Shanty Creek Resort is one of the best in the Midwest with golfing availability for every level of golfer. Shanty Creek boasts several signature courses, including 'The Legend', an Arnold Palmer course, The Weiskopf Course at Cedar River, 'Hawkseye' and 'The Chief'. Plus, Schuss Mountain Golf Course has twice been voted the best public course in Michigan. Several awards have been given to the resort from popular golfing magazines. Prices reasonable.
Canoe, Raft, Horseback Ride, Fish, Wineries: Shanty can arrange canoe/raft excursions thru Jordan Valley Outfitters. This year they are offering moonlight canoe rides down the Jordan River during the summer, with campfire at end of trip, at Lake Charlevoix. Horseback ride, hiking, fly fishing at Ranch Rudolph se of Traverse City. There are several wineries at Old Mission Peninsula. These are just some of the many activities the region has to offer.
