Falmouth House Details
Relaxing in the Sun: The Town of Falmouth maintains a number of beaches, complete with lifeguards during the summer season. If you want to take your car to the beach, then you will need to obtain a Beach Permit at the Surf Drive Beach. The Town has specific instructions for summer rental beach permits. Because Falmouth Heights Beach is so close, the use of a car is not necessary as it is a short stroll (1/2 mile) to the beach. During the off season, the beaches are fully accessible and do not require permits.
Shopping and Restaurants: The choices are unlimited. From fried fish (McMenamy's) to upscale waterfront dining (Flying Bridge), there are many restaurants within walking distance. Shopping is as varied in items and prices with many of the shops locally-owned (not 'chains'). The regionally-distinct Christmas Tree Shop is within walking distance and always has seasonal bargains.
Food Supplies: For those who don't believe that every meal should be prepared for them, supermarkets are within walking distance. Supermarkets include chains such as Stop 'N' Shop and Shaws. A fine independent (Windfall Market) is within 2 blocks and has a variety of prepared food that can be reheated.
Golf: Falmouth has courses that welcome renters. These courses are varied in their complexity and the skill required to play the courses. Woodbriar Golf Course is minutes from Main St., while the Ballymeade Country Club requires an auto to arrive at the course. Further away are miniature golf courses for the entire family. An indoor miniature golf course and recreation center is located north of Falmouth on Route 28.
