Kehena House Rates
Payment is usually accepted in the quoted currency unless the currency and the amount is specifically agreed in advance with the owner / advertiser.
- From $85/Night Rates: (min. bookings*, max. occupancy 4 guests) $550.00 weekly rate for 2 guests. Per night rate (single or double occupancy. Weekend rates $99.00 per night. Plus $10 for each additional occupant per night and $50 out cleaning fee. Taxes: Rates are subject to two Hawaii taxes totaling 11.42%: General Excise Tax of 4.166%; and Transient Accommodations Tax of 7.25%.
- Reservations: 50% deposit is due within 7 days of the reservation, with the balance payable upon arrival. Payments may be by check or money order. Cancellations: Cancellation with 60 or more days notice will result in a refund of monies paid, minus a $85 cancellation fee. With less than 60 days notice, refunds will be based solely on the ability to re-book the reserved dates; again minus the cancellation fee. *A three night minimum applies to bookings that include the Merrie Monarch Festival, Thanksgiving and/or periods between Dec 15th to Jan 15th.

Property Description: Nestled at the end of a cul-de-sac next to a Forest Reserve this vacation getaway is ideal for the adventurous as well as the romantics. The entire lower level of this duplex features 2 bedrooms, one bath, living area, washer and dryer, screened-in outdoor kitchen 'Hawaii Style' with refrigerator/freezer, range and lots of filtered sunlight to enjoy your morning coffee. Hardwood floors and tile, and hand painted wall murals give this space a clean, comfortable ambiance. Listen to the waves crash onto lava rock as the breeze rustles the palm tree leaves and blows gently through the large Ohia trees through the forest on two sides of the house. Walk-in closets provide more than ample space to store snorkels and fishing gear as well as personal belongings. Wireless broadband DSL Internet access allows for logging on to your laptop to search out other spots to visit and sites to see as well as to keep in touch with others.
Views: The view from the property is primarily of the Forest Reserve providing a tropical, woodsy feel. A short 3 block walk, and you're gazing at sapphire ocean with aqua and white breakers on black lava rock beneath a bright blue sky. Walk another few blocks to Kehena Beach and/or Kalani retreat and enjoy a swim, dinner or shop for gifts. A 15 minute drive provides you with unique SE Big Island views of whales (November through March), dolphins, sea turtles, marine protected tide pools, surfers, lava rock, and the red-orange glow of lava flows against the night sky.
Fruit, Flora and Birds: Papaya is available to pick on-site when in bloom and ripe, and you can enjoy the vegetable garden as well. Coleus, impatiens, and tropical flowers and plants indigenous to Hawaii are found in abundance right out your front or back door. The Forest Reserve is a nice haven for many species of Hawaiian birds who provide the entertainment while you sip on your first fresh cup of coffee of the day.
