Wake to the sound of birds and the trickling of a fountain in this adorable casita situated in the hills just outside of Oaxaca, a beautiful colonial and culturally rich city in the heart of southern Mexico. Known as a tourist destination for its rich indigenous diversity, crafts and climate, this is the ideal destination for those wishing to take advantage of all the city has to offer, while returning home to the clean air and quiet of San Pablo Etla, a short 20-25 minutes from the center of Oaxaca. The casita sleeps two, (dbl) has a full kitchen, private terrace, outdoor sitting area and gardens and shared pool. 'What a very beautiful place--each window frames such natural loveliness! In our traditional Zapotec village of San Pablo Etla, located on the shoulders of the Sierra Norte Mountains. Just a short drive from central Oaxaca, there is plenty to enjoy: hiking, mt. biking, bird watching, ping pong, and, as of March 2008, swimming in our pool. Your hosts John, Adele and Siena are experts on the trails in the surrounding area. The sweet scent of flowers awaits you at this adorable casita with horseback riding, swimming, tennis and golf within 15 minutes of the house. And for those interested in culture, also, close by are the famous Monte Alban ruins, art centers, and craft villages. (A car is recommended though not necessary as transport is easily arranged.)

Oaxaca Cottage Rates

Payment is usually accepted in the quoted currency unless the currency and the amount is specifically agreed in advance with the owner / advertiser.

  • The house is available on a weekly or monthly basis.
  • Rental Rates: $400 week, extra nights $50, monthly $1,200.
    High Season $425 week, extra nights $55, monthly $1275.
    Full payment required to hold reservation.$50 cancellation fee until 90 days before arrival, 50% cancellation fee 31-90 days before arrival,100% cancellation fee 30 days before arrival. Payment accepted through Paypal or upon special arrangement. $20 pet fee. Additional services such as housekeeping, catering and guiding avail.
  • High season rates are $425 week or $1275 month. High season is defined as December 15-January 15, March 1-April 1, and October 24-November 7th.

This little casita adjoins our home but is completely private. Recently remodeled and decorated in a rustic Mexican style by the artist who owns the house, you will find this place has delightful character and charm. There is beauty both inside and out in this casita which is situated in one of the more lovely rural areas of Oaxaca. We hope you enjoy the comfort and character of this place as much as we do.
