Golf is available at Cricket Hill, about 10 minutes away, other courses are within 1/2 hour drive. Tennis courts are located in Hawley. Fishing is abundant from the dock, shore and boat. Licenses are required for over 12. Hawley is noted for antiques, and there are many restaurants of all types in the area, including one within easy walking distance. Close by are mini-golf, go carts, a driving range, paintball and horseback riding. An excellent library offers Internet access, and a video rental shop is within walking distance. In Honesdale, about 15 minutes away are many fine gift shops and a museum of area history. An Environmental Center is 5 minutes away and features classes and exhibits. A local theater group features a changing program, and a Wildflower Music Festival features well-known performers in a natural setting. Churches abound in Hawley, and a synagogue is located in Honesdale.
